Winning Wines
I have long been a wine drinker. Now, though, without my sense of smell and with a very diminished sense of taste, I don't enjoy it like I did in the past. Still, I have a single glass almost every single day.
During the pandemic, which was well-before my life-changing event, I was drinking a lot more than just one glass! My wife and I did add a new place to buy wine, Naked Wines, and we continue to enjoy the service. I loved the name, but the idea of buying wine mail order didn't really seem so great. It has been!
I found out about the service when a subscriber of mine gifted me some wine from there. I had never even heard of it before, but I was impressed with it. My first purchase as a member was in the summer of 2020, and we continue to order from there frequently. I also buy wine from two grocery stores, Kroger and Whole Foods, and from my favorite chain in Texas, Spec's.
We have never been buyers of expensive bottles of wine. Even now, when we buy wine in the stores, it tends to be in the $15-20 range. The wines are very affordable at Naked Wines because the company cuts out the middle, which allows it to sell the wine to its customers without that retail mark-up.
Besides the affordability of good wines at a great price, there are a lot of reasons I like Naked Wines. First, they allow wine drinkers to get to know the winemakers and to interact with them on the website. Another great thing about the organization is that they help good people do what they love to do. If one wants to make wine independently and to sell it to people, it can be a very capital-intensive pursuit. Naked Wines. To me, the best part of all of this is that they help all sorts of winemakers. I like that the platform has a lot of women, as the industry has historically been tough for women-winemakers. Most of the winemakers are American, but the platform offers wine from other countries too.
If you are interested in becoming a member, here is how it works:
Above is how it works for the customers, but why it works is explained here:
This wine club doesn't require its members to buy wine. It accepts money on a monthly basis, but it is fully refundable if the member wants it back. Members can go at their own pace!
The link I provided above has no affiliate connection, and I have no relationship with the company at all for getting them new customers. With that said, if you want to become a member, Naked Wines will give you a credit. I can provide you a link to obtain a $100 voucher if you provide me your email address. I am happy to do this if it helps you.
